Terms of Sale 2015 MTV.fi, m.mtv.fi and MTV Katsomo
Advertising time is sold impartially to all advertisers, advertising and media agencies and to other organizations, for named clients and products, who agree to comply with MTV Oy’s terms of sale.
MTV Oy reserves the right to postpone advertising or to cancel bookings made for advertising time, should specific reasons so require, without any liability to pay compensation. The client will be informed of this without delay and at the same time, in its place, MTV Oy will try to provide a new advertising space corresponding to the previous one.
MTV Oy reserves the right to limit the amount of contacts sold to a single campaign should the advertising capacity of the channel require so. MTV Oy also reserves the right not to sell campaigns for which it would not be realistic to achieve the number of impressions within the desired campaign time.
There are no limitations regarding the exposure of competitors appearing in the same section, nor will this render MTV Oy liable for compensation. Advance information of any competitors’ campaigns running at the same time will not be given to outsiders.
Advertising to MTV OY’s Online Services is sold primarily impression based (CPM). Also time based advertising is available for the site. The minimum size for impression based CPM campaigns is 100,000 impressions.
If a client buys several media elements at the same time, each of these will be counted as its own independent campaign. A client can provide a maximum of five (5) different sets of material for one campaign.
MTV Oy will take into account the client’s wishes with regard to the emphasis between the materials, but no impression/time guarantee will be given for the different materials of the campaign. The materials can be changed once during the campaign.
For impression-based campaigns, MTV Oy grants an impression guarantee for campaigns. If the campaign does not achieve the number of impressions purchased, the campaign will either continue until the number of impressions is reached, the missing number of impressions will be reimbursed in the client’s next campaign, or the client will be given the missing number of impressions on an MTV Oy´s web services of the same price category. If at the end of the campaign the number of impressions falls short of the target by no more than 3 %, MTV Oy retains the right to extend the campaign automatically to the following day until the number of impressions has been reached.
Campaigns are verified by MTV Oy’s ad serving system.
Collecting data from MTV's web services
In conjunction with the confirmation of the campaign, the buyer of campaign makes a commitment to observe MTV Oy's operational guidelines concerning privacy protection, the Personal Data Act and the collection of data from MTV Oy's web services.
MTV Oy is entitled to interrupt the client's campaign with immediate effect as well as to terminate all contracts between the client and MTV without liability for damages if the client breaches the aforementioned terms and conditions. The client is liable to compensate MTV Oy or the users of its web services in full for any damages caused by failure to comply with these terms and conditions.
Campaigns sold on an impression basis on the mtv.fi sections Front page, News, Sports, Lifestyle and Entertainment, Katsomo and the m.mtv.fi pages will, by default, be implemented with a weekly frequency of five (5).
Campaigns can also be run with other frequencies, the minimum being three (3). Campaigns that use a frequency of less than five (5) will continue until the number of impressions is reached. Exceptions are for ad formats “giant panorama” and “sticker”, where a frequency of two (2) is used for all pages.
Confirmation of a campaign
A campaign must be confirmed in writing by the last day of validity stated in the offer; otherwise the booking will be cancelled.
Cancellation of a confirmed campaign
If a client cancels a confirmed campaign, the following cancellation charges will apply, which will be calculated from the net price for the campaign. All campaigns with duration over one month have a term of notice of one month.

Notification regarding a finished advertising campaign must be made in writing no later than eight (8) days from the end of the campaign.
Cooperation commissions are paid to agencies or other parties approved by MTV Oy, who agree to comply with MTV Oy's terms of sale and delivery and whose creditworthiness has been approved by MTV Oy. The cooperation commission is 12 - 15 %.
Invoicing and terms of payment
The terms of payment are 14 days or 30 days net from the date of invoice. Interest on overdue payments is determined according to the latest official overdue interest percent.
Queries regarding invoices must be made within eight (8) days of the invoice being sent.
Advance invoicing discount
An advance invoicing discount is an alternative to cooperation commission or direct invoicing discount. A client paying for the campaign no later than six (6) days prior to the campaign starting will receive an advance invoicing discount of 12% instead of cooperation commission.

New client benefit
New Internet clients are granted a new client benefit for their first campaign of an additional 30 % of the display product impressions purchased. The new client benefit for time-based advertising is -20 % on the first campaign.
Clients that have not advertised on the MTV Oy's Online Services in the previous 24 months are regarded as new clients.
Benefit for simultaneous TV campaign
For clients advertising the same product simultaneously on both the MTV Oy´s TV channels and on the web media, we grant an additional 10 % of impressions for a display campaigns.
There must be at least one common broadcast day to qualify as a simultaneous TV and display campaign. It is the responsibility of the client booking the advertising campaign to inform us about the simultaneous TV campaign. This benefit is not granted retrospectively.
Products and services that may not be advertised:
- tobacco products,
- alcohol (over 22 %)
- pharmaceuticals or medical treatments available only with prescription
- alcohol (over 22 %)
Products and services that have restrictions for advertising:
- commercials harmful to children
- adult entertainment
- alcohol (under 22 %)
