MTV sells radio business
Media company MTV is selling the business activities of radio station Nova and the sales and marketing functions of radio stations NRJ and Nostalgia to Bauer Media Oy.
The employees of MTV radio business will continue at Bauer Media with their existing terms of employment after the sale has been validated. With the sales of its radio business MTV will start cooperation with Bauer Media. The goal is to boost the multimedia solutions offered to advertisers.
“The sale of our radio business will strengthen our cooperation with Bauer Media and provide our customers with more comprehensive multimedia solutions than before. In our core business, we will concentrate on the development of television services as well as new digital businesses such as our online television MTV Katsomo,” says Jani Koskinen, Managing Director of MTV until the end of the year.
“Bauer Media is one of the leading European radio businesses, and Nova will bolster our Nordic portfolio,” says Leena Puntila, Managing Director of Bauer Media Oy.
Nova's comprehensive news service will remain the same after the sales. Nova will also continue broadcasting MTV’s news that Bauer Media buys from Mediahub, the producer of MTV news. MTV’s news will also be available in Bauer Media's other radio stations in future.
MTV and Bauer Media are also planning cooperation in sales and marketing as well as contents. As a result MTV will be able to even better serve its customers with extensive multimedia solutions containing radio advertising.
